The United States Warns Their Citizens To Evacuate Ukraine As Russia May Strike
The White House urges American citizens to leave Ukraine in the next 24 to 48 hours, and warns the U.S. won't rescue civilians if Russia invades. This is after experts evaluated that there are high possibilities that Russia will attack Ukraine, despite all the efforts being put by NATO in urging Russia to move away from Ukraine borders. Experts and analysts say the possibility of attack in the next few days are high, which is why the White House has informed all their citizens living in Ukraine to move away from the country to forestall any casualty on the Americans. The tension between Ukraine and Russia is becoming more tensed and many countries are careful on which side to support. Russia is a prominent world power, and she has many weapons that can decimate Ukraine. This is why some powerful countries like America is trying to intervene to prevent Russia from launching any attack on Ukraine, which happens to be their neighbour.
Furthermore, National security adviser Jake Sullivan said the U.S. still did not know if Russian President Vladimir Putin had decided to invade, but that all the elements are now in place for a rapid incursion. This is the reason they are asking Americans to evacuate before Russia would strike. Again, Britain’s defence secretary visited Moscow on Friday in another effort to ease tensions over a possible invasion of Ukraine by Russia, which held massive war games near its neighbour and insisted that the stand-off with the West wasn’t “our fault.”
Ben Wallace’s trip came a day after British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss held frosty negotiations in Moscow to urge Russia to pull back over 100,000 troops near Ukraine. Her Russian counterpart scathingly described the talks as a “conversation between deaf and dumb.” Russia has so far bluffed every talk with the United States of America and the United Kingdoms, insisting on their plans. This issue degenerated to this level since the beginning of this year.
There is currently an exercise known as Allied Resolve 2022—are taking place close to the Belarusian border with Ukraine, which is a little over 1,000 km (620 miles) long. Thursday was the start of the active phase of the drills. Belarus has become an alley with Russia and have turned their back on Ukraine. Many countries around the place are afraid of Russia, so they are aligning with her.
There are fears that if Russia tries to invade Ukraine, the exercises put Russian troops close to the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, making an attack on the city easier. The catastrophe and devastation this will cause according to experts would be too enormous.
Belarus leader Alexander Lukashenko is a firm ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the two countries have created a so-called “Union State” which includes economic and military integration. The Kremlin backed Mr Lukashenko after a disputed election in 2020 that led to protests in Belarus.
The whole world is still watching with their arms closed, as all efforts to call Russia to order have so far proved abortive. Some people are clamouring for Russia to be sanctioned to bring them to order. Some are also urging the United Nations to intervene because of the innocent people in Ukraine and Russia, including children who would be affected should Russia strike and Ukraine retaliate. Many analysts and political commentators believe that if this issue is not properly handled, it could lead to another world War. The world is still combating Coronavirus and many countries are yet to recover from the economic mishap caused by the virus due to incessant lockdown, how much more will it be dangerous to experience war at this challenging time? This is the fear of many people.
The United States, which is closely monitoring the situation says some 30,000 Russian troops are expected to take part in the drills with Belarus, although Moscow and Minsk have not disclosed the exact number of participants.
The objective of the war games is to practice “repelling external aggression with a defensive operation”, according to the Russian defence ministry. Troops will also perform drills to protect the border and block delivery channels for weapons and ammunition.
Russia insists that it is entitled to move its troops freely across its territory and that of its allies, with their agreement. It says the troops in Belarus will return to their bases after the exercises. The United States and the United Kingdom are still in the process of talking to Russia to back down from their plans to attack Ukraine. Although the speculations and predictions are high, no one knows exactly when Russia would strike. Those living near the Ukraine-Russia borders are beginning to relocate even as the United States recall their citizens from Ukraine.
They should take life easy, this is not the era or war.
